Maxine Shelly Turner
Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship honors Maxine Shelly Turner, who was one of the 32 people killed at Virginia Tech on April 16, 2007. Maxine was a senior majoring in Chemical Engineering at the university and was due to graduate with honors in May of that year.

Maxine was a founding member of the Rho Chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon at Virginia Tech. In establishing this scholarship, Maxine's love of the engineering profession lives on by helping other young women realize their dreams of being engineers and scientists. Last fall, the eighth Maxine Shelly Turner Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Olivia Loa, a senior Chemical Engineering major at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Donations to the fund will be accepted in the month of APRIL each year and can be made via cash, check, money order, or credit card. Because of limited resources and the effect on other fundraising efforts, public donations to this fund will ONLY be accepted during this one-month period. All donations received outside of this time window will be directed to the Foundation's general fund.

Checks and money orders should be made payable to "Alpha Omega Epsilon National Foundation, Inc." and sent to:

Alpha Omega Epsilon National Foundation
P.O. Box 9783
Alexandria, VA 22304

Please indicate in the memo portion of the check "Maxine Turner Fund" to ensure the money is set aside for the memorial scholarship. Donations must be postmarked between April 1 and April 30, 2018.

Donations by credit card ($10 minimum) during the same time period may be made to Alpha Omega Epsilon National Foundation, Inc. via philantro.org.

All donations to the Maxine Shelly Turner Memorial Scholarship Fund are tax-deductible in accordance with U.S. law. The Foundation is approved as a non-profit organization under the U.S. Federal Government Code 501(c)(3) Tax I.D. 36-4111818.
